What criteria do you use for your carrier selection? Least expensive? Shortest transit time? Lowest claims rate? First carrier to show up at the loading dock in the morning? The carrier whose rep brought pizza to the loading dock last week? Some combination thereof?

Shipping outbound from your warehouse, you make that decision, but when your suppliers are shipping inbound to you, they control the carrier decisions (even if you have issued a routing guide).

ARTC has developed a system to bring inbound freight, (both from material suppliers and returns from customers) under your control. Your vendors and customers log in to your “Branded” Routing Portal and select their orders that are ready to ship. The system selects your preferred carrier and will automatically tender the load.

Shipment documentation (packing slip, bill of lading and pallet labels) will be created. Advance shipment notifications are sent to you (buyers, DC’s, etc.) tracking and tracing are available, and an accrual file is developed for your A/P system. Reporting, including vendor and carrier compliance reports, is available.
