IT Development Manager
Alleima USA, LLC
I've been in IT roles since 1986, starting as a Sales Support Manager for a small cash register and business system dealer. In 1993, I started with ShopVac (Williamsport, PA) as a Microcomputer Analyst. I had my first exposure to BPCS while working on the team to convert a home-grown Wang VS business application to BPCS 4.04. There I learned the AS/SET development language and tool. I also began to learn and handle EDI for them using the TLE/400 product.

In 1996, I was hired by Sandvik Steel in Clarks Summit, PA. They were fully implemented on BPCS 4.04 and were using AS/SET and the TLE/400 products. As preparation for year 2000, in 1999, we upgraded to BPCS 6.04. Early in the 2000's, the company name was changed to Sandvik Materials Technology (SMT) to better indicate the variety of special alloys they were using in their products.

Around 2008, the team implemented ERP LX 8.3 with Webtop in 90 days to support a new company that SMT acquired. This was a tremendous accomplishment and began our planning for this major upgrade.

In January 2013, we went live with LX 8.3.4 with Webtop. This was a culmination of two-years of work and planning to eliminate all modifications, leverage the exit points to replace those modifications, and implement the LX Extensions and ION.

By 2015, we upgraded to LX 8.3.5 and implemented System i Workspace and IDF. In 2019, we transitioned from an on-site IBMi to Infor's Cloud Offering.

In September 2022, Sandvik Materials Technology was separated from the Sandvik Group to become a standalone company. It was rebranded as Alleima.

My skills include, but are not limited to, LX expertise, IBMi RPG and CL development, SQL, XML, and EDI.
