Future of XA.

I've heard that XA is not on the future roadmap for Infor. Can you validate this and share what migration there is if it exists for current XA customers? Thanks.

I can confirm strategy for the U.S. as well. We continue to sell Infor XA both to existing and new accounts. In support of this, there is an established cloud strategy for XA - with numerous customers who have already moved, active modernization strategies directly from Infor, including the NetLink thin client over core XA, and enablement of the full Infor OS capabilities with XA, including workflow, document management, Single Sign-on, etc, plus specific product strategies as  Read more...referenced within other comments on this thread. Show less...

It is a challenge to sell net new Xa with green screens still in the application. Release 11 will resolve this issue and we will be able to sell net new. Right now we are pursuing net new opportunities in Germany (as Michael stated) and in Italy. We are waiting for Release 11 in the US, where there is greater sensitivity to the green screen issue.

The short answer is that we will sell net new XA via the partner channel, but we have some enhancements required before we can  Read more...launch that process. Show less...

I cannot confirm for the US, but for Europe. Yes, we sell XA to new customers.

Thank you, Ross, for the information. Can you share about if XA is being sold to new customers? Thanks.

Thanks @rossfreeman for setting the record straight for the community.

Is it possible to delete a post which is fake from this forum?

Fake news. Let me clarify.

XA has a 10 year development horizon. XA has full access to the same technologies used by the CloudSuites (such as Infor OS and Infor Extend Applications), with a few exceptions. The XA cloud is not multi-tenant, and there are a handful of features that are more difficult XA to deliver. That does not in any way imply that customers need to worry about the future of XA.

XA has rebuilt both Development and Support staff to bring our age  Read more...profile into line with our long term needs. We have many younger people now, along with many veterans. In 10 years those new people will be the veterans, and we will bring in more new people to back fill. We are staffing and developing for long term sustainability.

XA and the other IBMi based ERP products do follow a somewhat different strategy than the CloudSuites, not just technically but in terms of marketing and other strategic needs. That is to serve the somewhat different needs of our customer base. Infor created an entirely different business unit called Compass to make that different strategy more effective.

It is accurate to say that XA customers have three choices. They can keep XA on premise, they can go to XA single tenant cloud, or they can go to a multi-tenant CloudSuite. There are several options in the Multi-tenant CloudSuites, based on either LN ERP (CloudSuite Industrial Enterprise and discrete Industry CloudSuites), SyteLine ERP (CloudSuite Industrial), and even M3 based CloudSuites which are generally targeted at non discrete manufacturing, but can be deployed in some discrete enterprises if desired.

If there was a planned project to move XA customers to a CloudSuite, you would think we would have a migration tool. We don't and have no plans to create one.

As Brenda has stated, we are delivering Release 11. Release 11.0 is slightly delayed but it is imminent. 11.1, 11.2 and 11.3 will follow in rapid succession. These releases are cumulatively the largest release in our history. Not something we would do if we were focused on moving customers. It is something we are doing based on a 10 year planning horizon.

That is not to say that CloudSuite Industrial Enterprise would not work for XA customers. It absolutely would. There are some functional strengths in some CloudSuites that exceed XA capabilities, which can make a CloudSuite a valid choice. Also, if multi-tenancy is a significant issue, XA has no plans to go there. The CloudSuites are all multi-tenant. But we continue to deliver enhancements and full support for the XA product, and are committed to doing so into the future. If a CloudSuite is right for an XA customer, that is a perfectly good path to follow. So is staying on XA. Your choice, not ours. Show less...

Thanks Brenda.

Here's what we heard:

Infor is evolving its long-term strategy to focus on CloudSuite Industrial Enterprise.

Is this a replacement for XA or did we hear something incorrectly? Thanks.
