Meet Jay! We sat down with our President, Jay Gentle, to get to know him and his background as well as get his perspective on how recent developments in technology are assisting in manufacturing growth. Read on to get the scoop.

Interviewer: Thank you so much for allowing us to pick your brain today. Can you give us some highlights on your professional background?

Jay Gentle: Absolutely! It's a pleasure to be here. My journey in the world of manufacturing efficiency began a while back. Over 30 years of experience in this field has allowed me to witness significant transformations in manufacturing. My career has always been providing technologies to manufacturers to help them drive efficiency throughout their business. I've had the privilege of working in various roles, from leading project teams and maintaining customer relationships to implementing strategies for business development and growth. This diverse experience has provided me with a deep understanding of the challenges manufacturers face and the crucial role technology plays in overcoming them. Eventually, this passion for streamlining operations led me to ISE, where I found a company that truly aligns with my vision of empowering manufacturers through innovative solutions.

Interviewer: So far, what have you enjoyed most about your role as President of ISE?

Jay: The most rewarding aspect of being president of ISE is witnessing the positive impact we have on our clients' businesses. Seeing a manufacturer go from struggling with inefficiencies to achieving peak performance through solutions like our MV2 manufacturing execution system is incredibly gratifying. It's a testament to the dedication and expertise of our entire team.

I also find it incredibly stimulating to be at the forefront of the manufacturing industry. Constantly learning about new technologies and crafting strategies to integrate them effectively keeps things exciting. It's a privilege to help shape the future of manufacturing alongside our valued customers.

Interviewer: In today's ever-evolving manufacturing landscape, what challenges do you see manufacturers facing most when it comes to optimizing their operations?

Jay: That's a great question. Today's manufacturers face a unique set of challenges. On the one hand, there's the constant pressure to improve efficiency and productivity. On the other hand, many are dealing with increasingly complex supply chains and workforce challenges. At ISE, we believe the biggest hurdle lies in finding the right technology solution that not only addresses these specific needs but also seamlessly integrates with existing systems and workflows. That’s really the motivation behind creating our MV2 MES software. We heard the struggles of our customers and created a solution that provides real-time data and predictive analytics in an intuitive interface.  This allows our users to make informed decisions, helping them improve their overall manufacturing throughput and ultimately their profitability.

Interviewer: How is ISE supporting growth in the manufacturing industry?

Jay: It’s all about being in-tune with where the industry is going. What are the trends? How are they being adopted? What more can we do to get ahead of and meet the needs of our manufacturing customers? This proactive approach allows us to leverage our MV2 MES to its full potential. You can’t focus on growth when you’re chasing inefficiencies in your processes. We developed MV2 to give visibility to bottlenecks caused by equipment failures, material shortages, or inefficient workflows. Then we went beyond that by giving our customers the ability to automate quality control checks, track product defects, and provide real-time insights into quality trends. This allows manufacturers to identify and address potential quality issues early on, minimizing waste and ensuring product consistency.

Overall, we’ve worked hard to make our MV2 MES a central data repository for machines, materials, workforce, production, and quality to give everyone in manufacturing from executives & management to operators & material handlers the ability to make quick and accurate, data-driven decisions.

Interviewer: The pressure is on for manufacturers to grow in today's competitive market. What are some key strategies you'd recommend to manufacturing leaders looking to take their businesses to the next level?

Jay: As a manufacturing leader, if you're looking to move your business forward, there's no getting around improving efficiencies. It's the engine that drives growth. The cornerstone of any good decision starts with data. MV2 can help by giving you real-time data to streamline production. Don't forget your people though! Invest in training them to use these tools effectively. A feature like digital work instructions in MV2 can help train new people and processes quickly. My answer for how to help manufacturers grow and stay ahead of the competition wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t mention Artificial Intelligence (AI). Leveraging AI to help avoid issues, predict outcomes and improve productivity will be a must for any manufacturing company in the near future. Finally, consider partnering with a technology company that can provide ongoing support and keep you updated on the latest advancements. This can help you hit the ground running with new solutions and stay ahead of the curve in this ever-changing industry.
