There are over 300 companies who are on support with Infor for System21 and probably several hundred other companies who are using System21 but have gone off support. With the recent formation of the Infor Compass division within Infor that will ensure that this product continues to mature and be s Read more...upported for the long term, there is an opportunity to rebuild the System21 user community. While some companies may be choosing to make an investment in a new ERP system, many Infor customers see an opportunity to extend the value of their System21 investment.

Whatever your status regarding your use of System21, we would welcome your participation in building this user community. How we shape this community will be largely up to those who participate in it. We hope you can participate and help us build our System21 community.

There are still seats available for the IDF Foundation for Developers class (Integrator) that starts next Monday. This is an online class with an instructor.

To register go to education.infor.com. Sign in, click Course Catalog on the left, type Idf in the search and you'll see the courses listed.

After this the next class is in October.

Integrator training - We just posted our first Integrator training course in Infor U. It's called IDF: Foundation for Developers. It is online, instructor-led with hand-on workshops. We teach you how to create new objects in IDF from DB2 tables. These are full-function, user-customizable *and maintainable* objects that look and act just like the ones you get from the Infor development teams. NOTE: The System21 IDF objects from Infor are inquiry-only. The ones you create with Integrator are  Read more...maintainable. You can create additional functions over your own tables that seamlessly integrate with the System21 inquiry-only objects.

This course is 2.5 days delivered in 4 hour sessions each day for a week. The instructor will show you how to do something using a demonstration system and PowerPoint slides, then give you time to do the same thing using detailed instructions (every keystroke and mouse click, with screen shots) to do it yourself.

Go to education.infor.com. On the left click Course Catalog. Search on IDF. You will see two courses, one for end users and one for developers. The end user course (or equivalent experience) is a prerequisite.

Hello, System21 users! I am the IDF Product Manager located in Alpharetta, Georgia. I want to be sure you all know that we now offer IDF education through Infor U.

Our first course is End User Customization -- five 4-hour sessions on how to customize views, subsets, sorts, cards (all types), card files, presentation schemes and templates. It is online, instructor-led, with hands-on workshops. Students really like the workshops! We provide a PDF with detailed instructions and  Read more...screen shots. The instructors can see your screen and help you if you need it. We also provide students with a PDF of all the slides, so they don't have to take notes.

To register:
1. Go to Infor U at https://education.infor.com.
2. You'll see Course Catalog on the left. Click it.
3. Put IDF in the search.
4. When the course comes up click on it to see the dates it is offered.

Our plan is to offer it once per month. We just finished our March class and will skip April while we put the finishing touches on our second course, Foundation for Developers. A lot of people are eager for that one.

The System21 users who have IDF have been enthusiastic, but also pretty insistent that they need education. We're working on it! I hope you can take advantage. Show less...
